Despite having the home ground advantage, two scoreless East Perth quarters didn’t do them any favours as they went down by 73 points at Altone Park on Sunday morning.

With eight of the game’s final nine goals going the way of the Titans, there was a clear difference between the two sides. The Titans confidence reigned supreme to huge success as they capitalised well from their numerous entries inside fifty, whilst dominating the board in every aspect of play.

The first quarter was a fairly even contest with the Titans scoring two majors to East Perths one. This trend didn’t continue, as the Titans eventually gained control of the match from thereon after and never looked back.

Despite the fact that the majority of the match was played inside the Titans forward half, the Royals were never without fight. Though their only two goals for the match weren’t enough to win them the game, they were definitely well worked for.

The first quarter saw Siobhan Wade impressively score what would culminate in her sides only major until seconds before the three quarter siren, when Jaleesa Dearle converted with a powerful shot from the fifty metre arc. But that’s where the positives for the Royals ended.

Rachel Ortlepp and Saskia Kosterink proved a dangerously good forward combination, booting six goals between them for the unstoppable Titans.

Jacqueline Toth also proved an important contributor with two majors to her name, nailing both of her goals in the first and final quarters for the Titans.

First gamer Zoe Timmers played like a veteran, working hard throughout the ground for the titans to push her side forward toward goal. Her impressive efforts were eventually rewarded with a stunning goal on the run moments before the final siren.

A fourth quarter highlight, Claire Ortlepp put forward her case for the match highlight reel, as she helped seal the win with an impressive long bomb from the fifty metre line, which bounced straight through the middle of the goal posts.

The Titans advanced and once again put forward their claim as serious finals contenders by further cementing their deserved spot within the top two, with their combination of intelligent ball use and consistent deliveries inside fifty clearly working to their advantage.
