East Fremantle now have a few months off from football, courtesy of the Peel Thunderbirds, who closed the door on the Sharks 2015 finals campaign.

Though East Fremantle fought hard this season to become the final team to make the top four and gain entry into the finals, their final fight was not enough to save them from a nail biting four point loss to the Thunderbirds.

In a match of third versus forth, the contest was always going to be close given the recent history of the two sides. Their last meeting was both intense and went down to the final wire, as East Fremantle got over the line by the slim margin of nine points. In a repetition of history, this semi final was no different in style.

Heavily even throughout, neither team managed to score more than a single goal each, with each side having only a single major to their name at half time. Scores were even at 1.1 a piece at the main break, and the game did not break even as the next forty minutes of play only delivered another five majors between the two sides.

Kira Phillips of the Thunderbirds was important with her two goals to help seal a nail biting lead, with assistance from Samara David and Emma Swanson.

The match was well fought out, heavily competitive, and was a real treat for anyone after a tight contest.

Two teams had come to take on the Coastal Titans in the preliminary final, but of course only one could prevail, and the Peel Thunderbirds did exactly that.

Final Score: Peel Thunderbird's 4.3 (27) def East Fremantle Sharks 3.5 (23)
