Swan Districts have taken out the last two league grand finals, repeating again their hunger for a third consecutive premiership as they delivered the goods against a fired up Coastal Titans during Sundays semi final at Hamer Park.

In an always exciting ladder placed first versus second, the minor premier Titans stayed true to their ladder position throughout the first half, delivering a dominant display of football to put themselves 16 points clear of rivals Swan Districts at half time.

Although dominant, their inaccuracy saw them fail to capitalize strongly on the scoreboard, having 3.6 to their name at the main break.

The Swans had no movement forward, playing defensive football in the forward half of the Titans. They finished with only one major to their name with two behinds at half time.

Beyond half time was quite a different story, as Swan Districts put their foot on the accelerator to convert another seven goals in an inspirational comeback. The Titans only improved in accuracy, but not in maintaining the lead, eventually losing in a nail bitting ending which saw the Swans win by only four points.

Though the combined forward power of Aimee Schmidt and Kiara Bowers proved important, with four goals between the duo for the Titans, it wasn’t enough as the Swans cruised to have another crack at a grand final win.

Final Score: Swan Districts 8.5 (53) def Coastal Titans 7.7 (49)
